People's Choice Awards: Bidco Uganda Limited crowned
As best makers of cooking oil, washing soap and detergent

Bidco Uganda Limited is the best manufacturer of washing detergent, laundry bar soap and fortified cooking oil. This is according to the People's Choice Awards. The annual People’s Choice Awards, established in 2009, are designed to promote business excellence by recognizing outstanding achievements within Uganda’s business landscape. During the Awards Dinner, held on November 17, 2023 at the Speke Resort Hotel in Munyonyo, Bidco Uganda Limited won Best Washing Detergent Award, Best Fortified Cooking Oil Award and Best Laundry Bar Soap Award.

Bidco Uganda Limited is the manufacturer of Fortune Butto, White Star Magic Laundry Bar Soap and White Star Magic Powder among other fast-moving consumer goods. Saba Teleclemariam, the Head of Quality Assurance and Food Safety at Bidco Uganda Limited, expressed joy over the recognition. "It's a confirmation for us. We have systems and Standards in place to make sure that our products are safe for consumption. It is a joy," said Ms. Saba, adding, "That's what we are doing and we are on the right path." However, Ms. Saba said the win is also a challenge. It means that the company continues to be the leading player in the FMCG space in the region. "It also pushes us to do more. If there are areas to improve, we navigate and improve," said Ms. Saba.

Rajdeep Chakraborty, the Head of Marketing and Exports at Bidco Uganda Limited, Head of Marketing and Exports, said the recognition is a confirmation that BUL customers appreciate the products. "The fact that the consumers appreciate our products, is a confirmation that our products are of quality. We will continue to follow our standards so as to continue delivering the quality. We assure our customers of the best even in the coming year," Mr. Rajdeep Chakraborty noted.
